The only negative thing I can say is that our bathroom is the nicest room in the house and I want to spend all my time in there! Beautiful, thoughtful craftsmanship. Worked with us to stay on budget while still responding to the inevitable surprises that pop up when working on a 100+ year old home. Great communicator and very responsive. Highly recommend!

David replaced my roof after a hail storm. He handled all the insurance work and did an excellent job of walking me through the insurance process and set clear expectation of how the job would proceed with time lines and was very good with communication, so I always knew where we stood and what to expect next. When the roof was complete David's crew did an excellent job of cleaning up.
Every time I called he was quick to get back to me, and even did a small chore for me a couple of weeks after the installation no questions asked.

Our experience with U Name It Construction was quite positive in several ways over the course of a major home remodeling project. First, David Lincoln, the owner, is quite meticulous in the work he does, and he expects the same attention to detail from his subs. Second, he communicated well with us at every step of the process. The opening bid was clear about what was known and not known, including costs and timeline; we knew from the start that there were a number of projects in the queue ahead of us, and we were kept apprised as to our starting date as other worked progressed. As we worked through the project, communication about undiscovered conditions was immediate and well documented. None of the change orders came as a surprise, and the costing of them was reasonable. Third, David has a good design sense; he was very helpful in presenting design options for unusual spaces. He listened to our ideas, but offered good guidance on keeping the design clean in the oddly shaped spaces in out house. Though he has very clear ideas on what works and what doesn't, we never felt like it was his way or the highway. Fourth, throughout the project, as homeowners, we had a fair bit of agency, and we were always consulted on project direction, particularly when the eccentricities of an old house came into play and required unexpected choices. It was a genuinely collaborative effort. Fifth, David operates "by the book" - your project will not run afoul of the city or its inspectors.

Any major remodel takes time and is disruptive. David and his crew made every effort to minimize disruption and keep the rest of our property clean and undamaged. Because they are so meticulous, the work of David and crew seemed to take a while, but the end result was worth the wait.

Last May a hail storm ripped through our neighborhood. We reported the incident to our insurance company and an adjuster examined the roof for damage. The assessment was that 52 shingles would need replacing. We contacted David Lincoln and he promptly responded and spent considerable time in documenting the hail damage. There are not enough superlatives for the work David did in gutting and remodeling our 70-year-old, en suite bathroom. Although the footprint/layout didn't change, it seems bigger and is brighter.

Everything other reviewers have said is true: David is a perfectionist, maybe a little OCD, but that's a good thing! He noticed and fixed potential problems and made good suggestions about different options. He was fastidious; protecting the wood floors in other rooms and the bedroom furniture and cleaning up at the end of each day.

During part of the project, I was out of town. I trusted him completely and he did a great job of staying in touch via texts or phone calls so I knew exactly how things were progressing. Such a treat to return home and see the completed project. My favorite feature is one you can't see: heated floor! Just blissful.

U Name It Construction helped our family with an insurance claim. We needed extensive repairs to the ceiling and floor in our kitchen, and repairs/replacements in two bathrooms. They were wonderful advocates for us. Communication was great throughout the entire project. The COVID-19 Stay at Home order was met by U Name It Construction calmly with a lot of tenacity and willingness to work through some odd challenges. I am grateful to them for making sure my refrigerator was accessible throughout the entire project. They made sure we were as comfortable as possible during construction. U Name It Construction completed the job skillfully, with attention to detail (we love our new kitchen grate that is styled right for our 1895 house), and a good sense of design. We valued their advice on color, materials and placement.

He does a lot of the work himself that keeps the project on time and within budget. His subs were great too. David and his crew saved my home! We coordinated with a geologist, architect, house mover, excavator, heating & air, plumber, electrician, block layers, and carpenters. The house needed a new basement. We preserved the top two floors, demolished the basement, and added an addition to accommodate a new laundry, stairwell and entry. David and U Name It Construction completed three projects for us between this past September and December. The first involved replacing four windows in our garage, and also wrapping deteriorated door trim with aluminum. The second project was the replacement of a bathroom exhaust fan and venting it to the roof. The final was a new roof on our house done in early December.

We were quite happy with the outcome of all three projects. David kept us informed as to when he would get to us, and how things were progressing during the work. He is very responsive to phone calls and emails. His roofing crew was efficient, completed the work in record time, and did an excellent job of cleaning up after.

We enjoyed working with David, and have already made some referrals. I’m sure we will hire him for future projects as well.
